Overview

Good investments can be pivotal in getting the most out of your charity’s income and enhancing your investment strategy plays a key role. Following last year’s successful new format, Investment 2018 will be a roundtable setting, structured to encourage discussion amongst delegates and cultivate a knowledge-sharing environment.

The conference will take a look at the investment landscape, how it could be affected by Brexit and investment policy and procedures.

Session 1 - The investment environment and how it may shape the sector

This opening session will give an overview of the current economic and investment climate including Brexit and regulatory changes such as MiFID II, and how it may affect the charity sector and the way it invests.

Session 2 – Creating an adaptable strategic plan

How does a reactive charity create a flexible strategic plan? This session will explore how to do this and how a charity can have an agile response to the wider environment. It will also look at how investment assets can fit into the wider financial plan of the organisation and how they can be revised to allow for changing needs for income.

Session 3 – Governance in a volatile market

Getting your Board on board with an investment policy can be even harder in a volatile market. This session will offer insights into what you need to be aware of and what questions you need to ask when presented with the strategy from your investment firm and how to get your Board to make decisions. It will also look at where the tipping point lies when looking at risk appetite and how you measure the risk in a market that is constantly changing.

Written notice of cancellations up to 21 days before an event will incur a 25% administration fee. After this time period, a 100% cancellation charge will apply. Substitutions (i.e. name changes) for the course booked can be made free of charge.

CFG reserves the right to cancel any event two weeks prior to the event date. You will be entitled to a full refund or given the opportunity to transfer to an alternative date. However we regret that we cannot refund any travel or accommodation costs incurred by delegates. CFG accepts no liability if an event is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our reasonable control resulting from an act of God, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the date, time or the venue at any time prior to the event date. If this occurs you will be informed of changes and given the opportunity to cancel or transfer to an alternative date.
