Salary and Benefits Guide for CFDG Members Launched

27th February 2008

The Charity Finance Directors' Group (CFDG) has announced that their Annual Conference will take place on 8th May this year at the QE2 conference centre in Westminster. This year CFDG's conference, entitled "Your Stakeholders Need You", will look at how charities can engage their full range of stakeholders on topical issues such as accountability and transparency, social reporting and impact.

The opening keynote speech will be given by Dr Daleep Mukarji, Director at Christian Aid. Dr Daleep Mukarji will explain how Christian Aid has built its capacity, competence and reputation to be "an open, transparent and learning organisation, accountable for its actions and able to meet high standards for public and stakeholder reporting."

Michael Hammer, Executive Director of the One World Trust will be giving our second keynote speech before lunch on how charities can strengthen their accountability to their stakeholders. During the breaks delegates will be able to browse over thirty exhibition stands, and during lunch Berwin Leigton Paisner are offering a one-to-one surgery on public benefit.

The CFDG Annual Conference routinely attracts around 500 delegates who are a mix of CFDG and non-CFDG members from both large and small charities. The conference provides something for everyone with a strong programme of speakers. There will also be plenty of opportunities for delegates to network and share experiences, ideas and best practice and discuss the challenges currently facing the sector.

The closing plenary session will be given by Stuart Etherington, CEO of NCVO who will examine the state of the charity sector in 2008 using the latest statistics from NCVO's Civil Society Almanac. Stuart Etherington will also share his thoughts on the current challenges and future prospects for the charity sector.

The conference is sponsored by Grant Thornton and Thomas Miller.
