CFDG shows charities how to manage in a recession

6th April 2009

The Charity Finance Directors' Group’s 2009 Annual Conference, ‘Managing in a Recession’ will be held at the QEII Centre on 19th May 2009. CFDG is pleased to announce Martin Brookes from New Philanthropy Capital, Mark Watts from RSPCA and Kevin Brennan MP as the plenary speakers for the conference.

Alongside the plenary sessions delegates will have five streams from which delegates can choose during the day, with speakers from a range of charities sharing their experience and expertise. Two of these streams will look at key issues for managing during a recession, from reviewing your strategy and a strategic approach to cost reduction to fraud and the signs of insolvency. The other three streams will focus on current issues in the sector, including philanthropy and partnership working, personal development and the issues of organisational culture, and our ever popular updates.

Keith Hickey, Chief Executive of CFDG says, “the global recession is hitting the UK economy hard, and charity finance directors must show real leadership at this time. Our programme covers the key strategic and operational issues to allow finance directors to excel at this difficult time.”

The conference is kindly sponsored by Grant Thornton and PS Financials.
