Brookes to say, ‘charities are still too insular’ at CFDG conference

12th May 2009

At the Charity Finance Directors' Group’s 2009 Annual Conference Martin Brookes, keynote speaker and chief executive of New Philanthropy Capital will say that, “many charities are still too insular, and do not cooperate enough with each other in sharing their results or explaining how they are measuring their impact.”

The conference is entitled ‘Managing in a recession’, and is a key event in the charity calendar. This year it will be held on 19th May at the QEII Conference centre in Westminster. The five streams will cover the breadth of issues facing charities in these difficult times, looking at issues as diverse as strategy, fraud, partnership working and organisational culture.

CFDG is also excited to announce that the conference will see the launch of the ground-breaking publication, Sustainability in Practice: monitoring and reporting. As the consensus on organisational action on social and environmental sustainability continues to gather weight and momentum, CFDG is leading the way on practical advice and best practice to charities around this issue.

The conference is kindly sponsored by Grant Thornton and PS Financials.
