Ray Jones, former Head of Accounting Policy at the Charity Commission, joins CFG to deliver SORP training

16th June 2014

CFG are delighted to announce the addition of Ray Jones to our team. Ray, who is well known and highly regarded throughout the sector, joins us from his role as Head of Accounting Policy at the Charity Commission. He will deliver an exciting and comprehensive programme of SORP training across the country for charities of all sizes.

CFG are immensely proud of our track record of attracting leaders and experts in their field to provide the very best training and continuing professional development for anyone responsible for the finances of their charity.

Caron Bradshaw, CEO of CFG, said:

"Who better than Ray to provide SORP training to the sector? Ray has been at the heart of the development of the new SORP since the beginning of the process. What Ray doesn't know about the SORP isn't worth knowing! Not only does he provide technical knowledge he has unparalleled insight into the thinking behind drafting."

Ray said:

“CFG is a fantastic organisation and I feel very privileged to be invited to work with them and their sponsors in delivering this series of courses on implementing the new SORPs. In 2015, charities faces the dual challenge of two new SORPs and a new financial reporting framework, but with careful planning now charities will be ready to report under this new framework with confidence. I want to ensure that charities are ready for that challenge and that they are equipped with the knowledge and background that will enable them to report their financial activities and achievements with the assurance that they are complying with best practice.”

Training will start on 3rd September and details of the programme of events is found on our website at  http://cfg.org.uk/sorp. We believe this is an essential part of the preparation and learning that people will need to undertake in the run up to the implementation of the SORP.  Many of our corporate supporters have joined us as partners to provide an additional perspective, keep costs down and the training events eminently accessible.
