2015 Spending Review and Autumn Statement Briefing

25th November 2015

The 2015 Spending Review and Autumn Statement was delivered today, 25 November 2015, by the Chancellor George Osborne.

What do the announcements mean for charities?

Our comprehensive briefing outlines the key points for charitable and voluntary organisations, and examines the likely impact of each.

It also includes commentary from a number of CFG's corporate partners, who provide expert insight into what the key issues are likely to be for charities.

The key points in the briefing are:

  1. Government to spend additional £18.7bn over parliament
  2. Big Lottery Fund protected
  3. No decision on charitable business rate relief.

Download the briefing here.

We also produced a live blog as the announcements were made, and a summary blog 'What do charities need to know about the spending review', which covers the points in more detail.

Andrew O'Brien, CFG's Head of Policy and Public Affairs also contributed a blog for Third Sector in the lead up and commented on aspects of the announcements in Civil Society.

Please note that the briefing was updated on 30/11/2015 as a quote from UHY Hacker Young was wrongly attributed. Many apologies.
