CFG’s annual awards event is back!

CFG will host a celebration of financial excellence at its annual fundraising dinner in October 2026.

Inspiring, celebrating and honouring financial excellence in the charitable sector is at the heart of Charity Finance Group’s mission. On 8 October 2026, CFG will be hosting its first awards event in more than six years.

CFG’s reimagined Annual Dinner and Awards will recognise those who lead the way in charity finance – putting celebration at the heart of CFG’s fundraising event.

Awards will be presented to three teams and two individuals who have demonstrated excellence and impact in charity finance and operations. A special award will also be made to an individual who has volunteered their time to support and inspire the CFG community.

The team awards are:

  • Excellence in Financial Reporting
  • Best Use of Technology in Finance (kindly sponsored by Unit4)
  • Excellence in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG)

The individual awards are:

  • Inspiring Financial Leadership
  • Rising Star in Charity Finance
  • Inspiring CFG Volunteer of the Year

Entries will open on Wednesday 25 February to CFG’s charity members. Charities that are not currently CFG members are also invited to enter. The closing date for entries will be the end of April.

Commenting on the refreshed Annual Dinner and Awards, Sarah Lomax, Co-CEO, CFG, says:

“We’re incredibly excited about the return of CFG’s Awards as part of our annual fundraising dinner this year. Every day, finance and operations professionals lead the way for the charitable organisations they work or volunteer for.

“It’s important to honour the enormous contributions they make, and recognise that the impact for society is even greater when finance is at the heart of an organisation’s decision-making.

“Our reimagined annual dinner is set to be an inspiring evening of celebration, connection and stories from across our sector.”

Joanna Strumilowska, Head of Events and Training, comments:

“This exciting new addition to our annual fundraiser in October has been inspired by our charity members and corporate partners. They have told us how important it is to come together in celebration with colleagues.

“We invite CFG’s charity members and also non-member charities to share the wonderful work they’re doing. We also encourage CFG’s corporate partners to nominate those charitable organisations, teams and individuals they believe deserve recognition.

“We are also inviting friends from across the sector to support the event, either by being part of the judges’ panel, sponsoring an award, or hosting a table.

“From Wednesday 25 February, please take the opportunity to submit your entries, share your stories, and join us in recognising the dedication and impact of our community this October.”

About CFG

CFG is the charity and membership organisation that supports other charitable organisations to make the biggest difference possible. We do this by helping them to make their money and resources go further, by putting financial leadership at the heart of their decision-making. Since CFG was founded in 1987, we have evolved to welcome all finance professionals working for charitable and social change organisations. We also welcome non-finance professionals who recognise that we deliver greater impact when we are financially confident, trustworthy and dynamic. Today, CFG’s vibrant community manages around one third of the UK’s entire charity sector income. We are a diverse and inclusive community of people who are passionate about delivering impact through financial leadership. Together, we lead the way for charity finance.
