Simon has over 30 years’ experience in VAT. He joined BHP from Customs & Excise where he worked for 13 years. Simon has a particular interest in the charity and not for profit sector and spends a significant amount of time advising charity clients on complex VAT issues such as partial exemption, land and property issues and on grants and contracts. He also negotiates with HMRC on their behalf when necessary. Simon is Chairman of the Yorkshire Chapter of the VAT Practitioner’s Group, an associate of the CIOT and also attends the Charity Tax Group’s Observer Member meetings. Simon regularly speaks on a wide variety of VAT topics.
