The 2026 Banking Survey is now live. Find out why your experiences matter and get involved in CFG's latest research on charity banking services.

In line with the theme of actively keeping information up-to-date, and always aiming to lead by example, we are now refreshing our data to gain further insight into the current state of charity banking.
We are inviting charities to take part in our biennial banking survey.
Building on the findings from our 2022 and 2024 surveys, we want to understand where progress has been made, where challenges persist and where issues may have worsened. The data we collect will help us identify areas that require further action from banks, charities and regulators.
It has been two years since we last conducted this research, which underpinned the Charity Banking Challenges 2024 report and informed our practical toolkit, Communicating with Your Bank.
Since then, we’ve actively worked with charities and banks to tackle the issues highlighted in our research.
Why your participation matters
In the 2026 survey, we are also looking to understand how ESG considerations influence charity banking decisions, to better inform our aims and priorities moving forward.
We’re asking about what motivates organisations to change banks – such as ethical or environmental considerations – and the barriers to changing bank, as well. By sharing your data, you will help us to track and detail the sector’s experience with banking.
Your responses will be treated confidentially and used only in aggregate form to demonstrate sector-wide trends. Having robust data in conversations with banks, regulators, and government is a powerful motivator and a clear demonstration of the need for change in certain areas.
The evidence from this survey will also ensure CFG’s policy work, sector advocacy and practical resources around banking continue to reflect the experience of charities across the UK.
Please take part and help improve the future of charity banking.
